First baby of 2017 boosts Packers' fan base
A lifelong Packers fan, Cody Haldiman couldn’t stay awake for Sunday night’s game.
It was a pretty big game, but you can’t blame him. He was only 20 hours old at kickoff.
The son of Tiffany and Eric Haldiman, Cody is Green Bay’s first baby of 2017. He held a press conference at St. Vincent Hospital but let his mom and dad do all the talking.
“Excitement, a new calendar, a new chapter, new excitement and fun, a new life,” Tiffany said when asked to sum up what she and Eric were going through.
Yes, Cody’s got a closet full of Packers clothing, even though Mom and Dad didn’t know his gender until he was born at 2:26 a.m. Sunday. And yes, he was wearing a Packers onesy at his media event. And yes, Mom and Dad are Packers fans, although Mom expected she might not be able to stay awake for the game either, and even Dad acknowledged he was a lot more excited about having a new baby boy than he was about watching the game.
”Sports is fun, but it’s nothing compared to this,” Eric said.
The tale of the tape: Cody was born at five pounds, nine ounces and was 19 inches long “give or take a half inch.” And he was 19 days early.
Eric drives a concrete truck for a living; and Tiffany works at the CP Center. Cody is their first child.
