The suspect might appear to have a sore back.

Someone stole a 22-foot-long, 1,300-pound gate this weekend from a construction site on the west bank of the Fox River in Green Bay. City police said the gate formerly was used to control traffic on the Don A. Tilleman Bridge, which is just above the West Mason Street site where the gate was stolen.

Officers are asking the public to be on the lookout for the gate, which has a metal power box on one end, and is marked with red reflective tape.

The thief or thieves used a forklift at the site to bring the gate to the street near C. Reiss Coal Co. and loaded it into a vehicle, police said. They also boosted about 20 four-foot by eight-foot sheets of plywood, and 20 16-foot-long 2x4s.

Police do not have a description of the getaway vehicle.
