Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton announced she will make a campaign stop Tuesday at the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay ahead of the April 5 Wisconsin primary.

Clinton's campaign announced she will hold events in Madison, Milwaukee, La Crosse and Green Bay on Monday and Tuesday. Clinton will hold an organizing event at the Riverside from 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to her campaign web site. Doors open at 3:45 p.m.

Rich Langan, vice chairman of the Democratic Party of Brown County, said the announcement has excited and energized supporters. He said every Democratic nominee since John F. Kennedy has visited Green Bay.

“We’re the second-largest media market in Wisconsin, so I think it’s great that she visits us,” Langan said. “I think it’s very exciting and a wonderful idea for her to visit. This is going to be a major shot in the arm for Hillary supporters.”

Langan said voters and supporters might have seen Clinton and Sanders in primary debates, but nothing compares to the chance to meet presidential candidates in person.

“I think voters need that personal contact,” Langan said. “I hope we see the lights of (fellow Democratic candidate) Bernie (Sanders’) eyes, too.”

The campaign release indicates she will discuss plans "to break down all the barriers that hold Americans back and encourage Wisconsinites to vote early ahead of the April 1 early voting deadline.

Sanders will visit Madison on Saturday, and Republican candidates John Kasich and Donald Trump have plans to visit the state as well.

Kasich will be in La Crosse, Madison and Waukesha early next week, while Trump will visit Janesville.
