Richard Arrington, one of two suspects sought in the shooting death of Ricardo Gomez in Green Bay last weekend, turned himself in to Green Bay police Friday night.

Police Capt. John Balza said the 20-year-old Arrington turned himself in at 6:25 p.m. at the police department in downtown Green Bay.

“He just pulled up in front of the station and turned himself in,” Balza said.

A short time later, Arrington was taken to the Brown County Jail, where he remained in custody Friday night.

He will be referred to the Brown County District Attorney’s Office for a charge of first-degree intentional homicide, Balza said.

Gomez, 25, was shot at a residence at 1138 Day St. on Saturday night and later died at a local hospital.

The apprehension of Arrington came as funeral services were held for Gomez at St. Willebrord Parish, a block away from the police station, in the afternoon and early evening Friday.

Police have released few details about the shooting.

Balza said police continue to search for 22-year-old Devin Landrum, who is considered a person of interest in the shooting incident.

“We’re still looking,” Balza said.

Arrington and Landrum have addresses in the Milwaukee area, but police said earlier in the week that both men could still be in Green Bay.

Police came up empty Tuesday afternoon in their SWAT team search of a home in the 1000 block of Shawano Avenue on the city's west side for suspects in the shooting incident.

Balza said no additional information about the ongoing investigation will be released before Monday.

The police department thanked the community for aiding the investigation with tips and information.
