A former Green Bay public school district teacher charged with sexually assaulting two students is set for sentencing next month.

Jer Lovaj.

Jer Lovaj, 58, of Oconto, was convicted of felony second-degree sexual assault of a child and a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree sexual assault of a child after pleading no contest to both charges last week.

A charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child was dismissed, but can be considered as part of sentencing, according to online court records. The misdemeanor charge was changed from a more serious felony charge.

Lovaj, who initially pleaded not guilty to all charges, is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 23.

Prosecutors contend Lovaj inappropriately touched two students at Anne Sullivan School on Green Bay's east side, where he taught English as a second language between October 2013 and February 2014, according to court documents.

Lovaj was charged in the first case in March. Charges were filed in the second case in late May after another child told her mother and investigators she had been touched multiple times, according to court documents.

Lovaj is listed in custody in the Brown County Jail, according to online court records.
